Firmware upgrade program For VFINP2.0.3 2006-10-5 16:55:41 VFINP 317KB

The fingerprint image was enhanced by the firmware program of V2.0.3,the template and template data not same as before.It modify the arithmetic of fingerprint that is based on the low version, so that improve the confirm efficiency. The old fingerprint template data in the database can not be used.The following is the steps of upgrade：

Step 1：Before update,backup the TAS database(find TAS Lite installation path,often the path is：C:/Program Files/TAS Lite,under this folder,have a folder named TASLS.mdb,the folder is TAS Lite database.)

Step 2：Connect power,then connect 485 wire.Delete all users in reader.You will insert power supply in the VFINP. You will You will connect the VFINP to the PC by 485 wire. You must delete data in VFINP before updating the VFINP. Firmware Program (you can click "Reader Management" sub-menu in "Reader" menu, select the VFINP that need to delete data in the left list of Reader Management, and then click "Clear all data in Reader" button, system will clear all data in VFINP).

Step 3：Download the "Update VFINP Firmware" folder to your PC。

Step 4：Open this folder, you can select the different version, it includes "SC (Simplified Chinese)", "TC (Traditional Chinese)"and "EN (English)".Such as "EN", open the "EN" folder and then copy the "License.dat" to your PC in the "system32" folder. Generally, the default path is :“C:/WINNT/system32”。

Step 5：Double click "UpdateVFINP_Firmware.exe", and then you input the VFINP No. in the field of "VFINP No.", select the "Serial Port" that is connecting to VFINP. Click "Update program" button, the VFINP program will be update. After updating program, you need to remove the pvc sensor "cover" , and then clean the sensor by wet cloth.

Step 6：After update program, you must install TAS Lite（For 2.0.3）of compatible with the firmware. After installing TAS Lite , you must copy the back-database file to the path of TAS Lite. Finally, you must enroll fingerprint again.
